Abstract

This article examines the correlation between the philosophy of symbolism and the teachings of V.S. Solovyov to comprehend the essence of this literary movement, the embodiment of symbolic elements in the early poetry of Boris Pasternak, as well as Pasternak's poetic visionadequacy in French translated analogues. On the grounds of comparative and lexical-semantic analysis, it is concluded that, being a philosophical doctrine, symbolism borrows Solovyov's idea as to the inevitability of philosophy going beyond the framework of theory, into the sphere of life-creation, including arts, which is considered as a way for a person to reveal himself, to comprehend his creative vocation as being in culture and society. As a result, this study is relevant for disclosing the mechanisms of generation, transformation and distribution of symbolic codes in various areas of social life.
