This article continues the study of the «abduction» tradition, which helps to determine the limits of freedom of the marriage choice of our predecessors. Apparently, in the past, «abduction» sanctioned the sexual relationship of a man and a girl. «Abduction» preceded the girl's entry into adulthood. «Abduction» was a rite that preceded defloration. The rite of «abduction» has lost its significance as a result of the spread of the institution of marriage as a contract of family-related groups of the bride and groom. However, later the second «birth» of the old tradition occurred.
