The work made it possible to identify certain gender characteristics of the value structure and meaningful life orientations of student youth. For girls, career and financial well-being were the priorities, for boys – personal relationships and love. The majority of respondents chose personal freedom and social tolerance as outsiders. Young men have a balanced structure of life-meaning orientations of the temporary life continuum and an internal type of locus-control in the sphere of managing their lives. The girls revealed certain deformations of the semantic construct with a shift to the past or future with the depreciation of the meaning of the present and a more external type of locus control. When the value structure is projected onto the entire temporal space of life, family well-being and health act as fundamental support systems. The paper also shows that a negative emotional background leads to deformation of the semantic core of a young person's personality, while the value structure is preserved and stable.
