Abstract

The article examines the specificity of the elements of symbolism used to describe the concept of the city in the early works of Boris Pasternak, and also examines the proportionality of the reflection of the philosophy of symbolism in translations of some of the poet's works into French. The lexico-semantic and statistical analysis of some of the poet's works showed that in his early poetry the problems of symbolism are represented by the stringing of personification metaphors, musical connotations and the general melancholy description of the city, while the dominant means of imagery for revealing the philosophy of symbolism in these works were the author's metaphors and comparisons.
