The results of the analysis of the problem of theoretical development of a psychological portrait of a professional esports athlete are presented. The significance of studies aimed at explication of factors related to the working capacity and health of representatives of this profession is indicated. It is noted that esports is a unique competitive, social, economic and entertainment event, as well as an actual profession for many of its participants. It is concluded that psychologists studying sports and its impact on a person develop a psychological portrait of a modern esports athlete taking into account the requirements of esports competitions for strong-willed qualities, cognitive, technical and tactical abilities, motivational and value-semantic spheres of personality.
