The article describes one of the key directions of administrative reform in Russia – the organization of Internet communication between the authorities and society. The author considers the regulatory framework for assessing the performance of officials taking into account the criterion of building public trust. The results of the applied sociological research conducted in 2022 with the assistance of the Public Chamber of the Tver Oblast concerning the role of the Internet in the development of civil society and dialog between the population and the authorities. The authors characterize their own experience of using specific channels of electronic communication between the authorities and the population of the Tver Oblast and provide an assessment of such experience by the respondents.
