Abstract

The article deals with the problem of professional psychological selection. Several theoretical approaches to the study of this topic are analyzed. Such basic concepts as "professional suitability", "professional abilities" and "professionally important qualities" are disclosed. The main groups of professionally important qualities that make up the structure of professional suitability are outlined. The main approaches to professional selection and its levels are considered. The content of the seven main stages of professional-psychological selection is described, and the tasks of each stage are specified.
