Abstract

The philosophical aspects of suicide as a self-destructive human behavior are considered. The topic of suicide, which is one of the most pressing problems of our time, is analyzed as an existentially important human attitude to one's life and death. It is noted that suicide as a philosophical problem is described in the history of philosophical thought as a free decision of the will, in which the purpose of suicide is revealed in a meaningful finding and making a decision aimed at voluntary retirement from life, i.e. death becomes a conscious goal of the individual, a way to solve a life crisis, escape from problems that cause suffering and act as the basis of self-destructive behavior.
