Abstract

The level, nature and potential of the involvement of representatives of volunteer movements in the social practices of local government have been studied. The results of a sociological study conducted in the Tver region in the autumn of 2022 are given. Approaches to analyzing the relationship between volunteerism and civic activism are considered. The social portrait of the volunteer is presented, his stratification and axiological profiles are determined. The high role of activism values in the structure of value orientations of volunteers is revealed. The main directions of volunteer activity of residents of the Tver region have been studied. The level and forms of volunteer participation in local government practices are investigated. A higher level of self-governing potential of volunteers was found than that of non-volunteer citizens.
