The article analyzes the consequences of students experiencing personal crises. The emergence of frustration is considered as a result of the utilitarian ethics of modern society aimed at maximizing the satisfaction of material needs, which leads to a transformation of activity in which motivation is reduced to mercantile desires. It is shown that these mental phenomena affect both the rational and emotional spheres, influencing the mood and well-being of students. Based on the results of the study conducted by the authors, it is concluded that there is a need for both psychodiagnostic and psychocorrective work of psychological support centers in the higher education system.
