About the article
V.P. Potamskaya
The article examines C. Popper's approach to the problem of historical explanation in the context of criticism of historicism. The anti-historical concept of Popper was analyzed, which consists in the fact that historical science is not engaged in identifying common universal laws of development, since it deals with unique events and a huge variety of social events. It was concluded that as part of the implementation of a rigorous analysis of historical explanation, Popper came to the following conclusion: history should be explained through deduction from general laws and original conditions, which are usually considered by historians as causes of events.
