Abstract

The significance of F. Nietzsche's teaching about the superman is determined. It is indicated that E. Fromm formulated four dichotomies (existential choices) facing man, and they became criteria for evaluating F. Nietzsche's teaching about the superman. It is concluded that according to none of these criteria Nietzsche's doctrine of the superman turned out to be philosophically significant.
