The article examines the features of professional pedagogical activity in psychological and pedagogical literature. On the example of the works of domestic and foreign scientists, the specifics of the work of a modern teacher are described. Psychological factors are given that complicate or negatively affect the personality of the teacher. Particular attention is paid to the determinants of labor efficiency in the context of predicting the success of a specialist in solving professional problems. The role of the motivational orientation of the individual in the implementation of professional functions at the proper and high level is indicated. The results of a psychodiagnostic study of the structure of motives for the professional activities of high school psychologists are analyzed.
