Abstract

The article is devoted to the psychological characteristics of the student age. The central place is given to such factors as mental processes, self-development, self-actualization, professional self-determination, professional skills, abilities, knowledge. The results of the theoretical analysis of the works of domestic and foreign scientists devoted to the stated problem are presented. The description of the student period as one of the stages of growing up is given. The leading trends in modern education aimed at the personal and professional development of students are indicated.
