MUSICAL SUBCULTURES AMONG STUDENTS: THE EXPERIENCE OF SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AT TvSTU

Abstract

The article is devoted to musical youth subcultures as a special socio-cultural phenomenon of modern society. The peculiarities of musical subcultural communities are studied, the specifics of students' subcultural activity are revealed. Based on the data of an applied sociological study conducted at the Tver State Technical University, students were informed about musical subcultures, motives for inclusion in their activities, factors of attractiveness of such groups for young people. Signs that unite participants in musical subcultural communities, as well as the most popular subcultures in the student environment, have been studied.
