About the article

The article examines nihilistic trends in contemporary society through the lens of cinema, drawing on the case of the American film Everything, Everywhere, and at Once by D. Kwan and D. Scheinert (2022). It is shown that nihilism manifests itself through a crisis of values and the loss of meaningful human relationships. It is noted that the 21st century nihilism represents not simply a denial of life purpose, but a complex reaction to the fragmentation of society, the chaotic nature of existence, the crisis of traditional values, and the difficulty of self-identification in the modern world. Cinema serves as an important tool for understanding these issues, demonstrating the various facets of a nihilistic worldview and the ways to overcome it through human relationships and personal growth.
