In this scientific review, the authors examine contemporary literature covering current issues, trends, and prospects for digitalization of the economy in the Russian Federation. For most countries worldwide, the digital economy has become an imperative at the beginning of the 21st century. In our country, it is not just a development tool but also a prerequisite for industrial survival. The study of the digital economy aims to model complex socio-technological systems and economic processes associated with the use and widespread dissemination of digital technologies and products. Within this framework, a central focus is on identifying the key stages and processes of digital economic development, as well as considering the factors that significantly influence these processes. Ultimately, such models, or conceptual frameworks, are used in shaping public policy and strategic planning for digital development nationwide.
