Abstract

The thesis is put forward that the student as a subject of philosophical discourse plays a double role: he participates in the creation of the value system of university education and at the same time experiences its powerful axiological influence. The genre of the philosophical essay is presented as an accessible and productive way to get acquainted with the students' value ideas. The analysis of student papers showed that for the vast majority of students, three semantic groups are the main ones: the values of life; the values of education; the values of social actions and communications.
