The psychological features of such a category of young people as students, the specifics of their subjective qualities are considered. Special attention is paid to the period of training of a future specialist in a higher educational institution. The results of the theoretical analysis of the studied phenomena are described, a number of approaches of domestic science are indicated, revealing their content. The psychodiagnostic «targets» of the study and the characteristics of the contingent are listed. The importance of revealing the specifics of the formation of the subjective position of students in the process of professionalization is noted (this position acts as a determinant of professional self-determination).
